CMSAA Summer Camp Descriptions
June 21 – July 2
This session campers will celebrate our nation’s birthday.
Campers will learn about Native American History, Columbus Day, and will
explore what makes each state unique. Campers will experience the
wonderful diversity of America’s land and people. To ring in
Independence Day, campers will hold their own 4th of July bicycle parade!
This session will include a special in-class visitor to provide a historical
perspective. Bible lessons which will be incorporated into this session
will include the story of Abraham and the Birth of Jesus.
July 6 – July 16
During this session, campers will step back in time and learn all
about the dinosaurs! They will become archaeologists as they search for
dinosaur bones and footprints. They’ll also grow their very own
dinosaur pets to take home and make models of what they think dinosaurs may
have looked like. Bible lessons in this session will include Creation
and the story of Jonah.
July 19 – July 30
Splash into summer this session! Campers will beat the summer
heat with lots of water play and exploration of ocean life. Special
visitors will introduce children to the water cycle. Campers can use
a special indoor boat to practice their fishing skills as we learn about
the abundant life in the seas. We’ll also hear of Jesus’
miraculous walk on water and discuss the Woman at the Well.
August 2 – August 13
From teeny-tiny creepy crawlies to elephants weighing hundreds of
pounds, campers will explore them all! They’ll head off on
scavenger hunts and use magnifying glasses to get a closer look at the
plants and insects all around. They’ll participate in Bird
Watching expeditions on Nature Trails, and experience a special feathered
in-class visitor. Along with homemade animal masks they’ll make,
the campers will be invited to participate in an Animal Dress-up Day.
Of course, we’ll learn all about Noah’s Ark.
August 16 – August 20
Campers will learn all about God’s wonderful, wide world in
this session. Along with many different cultures, campers will
experience the foods, language, music, and clothing that make this world
a diverse and beautiful place. There will be Tai Chi sessions with
a special guest. The story of God’s creation of the world
will be incorporated into this session.
