Erin Milligan, Head of School
Erin first felt called to CMSAA in 2002 when she wrote and
dedicated a book of prayers to the school. A lawyer and mathematician
by degree, she spent thirteen years working as a Human Resources
Consultant. In her consulting profession, Erin worked especially
in the areas of organizational change and governance, individual
and organizational performance and rewards, and talent management.
Erin has served in a leadership role to psychologists, educators,
MBAs, lawyers, doctors and organizational behaviorists. She
has developed multiple training programs and has been involved
in education program development, design and implementation
for children in special education, athletics and religion.
Erin loves the performing arts and looks for every opportunity to sing, dance,
and play the piano! Most importantly she shares her love of Montessori
Education with the families of CMSAA. She is a mom of three boys –
two of whom are enrolled at Christian Montessori.
Tara Schmitt, Director of Development and Community Relations
Tara is a CMSAA parent who worked for several years at the University of
Michigan Kellogg Eye Center as a Director of Development. A Montessori
graduate herself, Tara attended a Montessori school which expanded each year
during her elementary years. Tara has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
from Xavier University. She works closely with CMSAA Head of School,
Erin Milligan, and the CMSAA Board to oversee both scholarship and capital
fundraising efforts.
Alison Makarewich, Assistant Director Programming
Most of our CMSAA families know “Miss Alison” since she has
been working in the Children’s House classroom for six years.
Alison is a gifted teacher and administrator who works half-time in the
office and half-time in the Lower Elementary Classroom. Her office
responsibilities include general assistance to the head of school as well
as oversight of all our Daycare Licensing Programs. Alison’s
organizational and administrative skills are sure to bless our efforts to
become a flagship Christian Montessori School.
Miki Doan, Assistant Director Administration
Miki brings to CMSAA a rich background in human resources and office
management. Miki has a business degree from Michigan State University
and a Masters degree in Human Resources from Wayne State University.
As an HR Associate at Ford Motor Company, Miki enjoyed a wide range of
responsibilities including recruiting and placement, grievance management,
pay and benefits management and employee supervision. In her role at
CMSAA Miki manages our pay and benefit programs, helps with the process for
new admissions, and manages the provision of services between CMSAA and
Ann Arbor Public Schools for students with special needs.
Jessica Haessler, Assistant Director Finance and Marketing
Jessica is one of those wonderfully gifted people with both right and left
brain capabilities. For the last several years Jessica has worked as
Deputy Treasurer at Lodi Township. Prior to that, she worked as Managing
Editor and Advertising Executive for a Technical Trade Magazine.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of
Michigan. In her office role at CMSAA, Jessica oversees our accounting,
marketing and advertising programs.
