Russelle Low, Children’s House 1 Head Teacher
Russelle’s dedication to early childhood education is manifest in her
broad educational background. With a Bachelor of Science in Home
Economics from the University of Tennessee, Russelle began her career in
education as a certified K-3 specialist in Tennessee. She went on to earn
a Master of Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, and her
Montessori 3-6 (Preprimary) Diploma from St. Nicholas Montessori College in
London, England. Russelle began her work as a Montessori teacher in
1984. Prior to joining CMSAA, Russelle held positions as Head Teacher and
Assistant Lecturer (for Montessori teacher training programs) in Tennessee and
Georgia. She enjoys needlework, art history, travel and dance. Her
gentle and gracious guidance provide a particular comfort to the children as
they grow in knowledge, confidence, independence and love of the Lord through
their years with her. Russelle and her husband Walter have a daughter who
is a CMSAA graduate.
Beth Kohler, Children’s House 1 Teacher
Beth received her Montessori preprimary certification from the Adrian
Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute in 2001 and has worked
as Montessori Teacher ever since. She brings to CMSAA great
experience in a variety of preprimary programs including Montessori
summer camps, after-school and toddler programs. Beth also gifts the
children of CMSAA with her extensive training in Children’s Ministry,
dance and creative movement.
Cho-Kyoung Kim, Children’s House 1 Teacher and Children & Worship Teacher
Cho-Kyoung Kim is a life long learner who received her Montessori
certification at Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute in
2003. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from
the Sacred Heart Catholic University in Seoul, Korea. Cho-Kyoung has
many years teaching experience with stints which range from teaching
kindergarten to middle school math and science. She also has
administrative experience and, for three years, was the assistant director
of the Korean Christian Academy in Seoul, Korea. Cho-Kyoung delights in
sharing God’s love with young children and we are delighted that she has
joined the CMSAA community to teach and lead the school-wide Children &
Worship program.
Children’s House 2
Laura Hutchinson, Children’s House 2 Head Teacher
Laura Hutchinson is an incredibly experienced Montessorian who has taught at
both AMI and AMS schools in Ohio, Virginia and New York. Laura has a
Bachelor of Science in Education from Edgecliff College in Ohio and holds an
AMI Montessori Certification. Her Montessori career started in 1976 at
the Hershey Montessori School in Ohio and went on to include a wonderful
variety of settings ranging from a small, two room school in a church
basement to large school serving children from the infant community
through Middle School. Laura has established brand new classrooms as
well as taken over the role of Directress in well established classrooms.
Her last position was again at Hershey Montessori School, one of the few
Montessori farm schools in the United States. We are blessed to have
Laura part of the CMSAA community. Laura has two children who have
experienced Montessori education through middle school.
Jessica Guerra, Children’s House 2 Teacher
Jessica received her Montessori Certification at Brookfield
Academy in Rochester Hills. She received her Associate Degree in Child
Development from Wayne County Community College. Jessica comes to CMSAA
with previous Montessori teaching experience at Montessori Children’s
Center in Allen Park and Meadowbank Schools in Lincoln Park. Jessica is
an outgoing, enthusiastic addition to our Children's House class!
Alexandra Hejazi, Children’s House 2 Intern, Children's House Spanish Teacher & Bambino Teacher
Alexandra is currently studying to receive her Early Childhood Montessori
certification at the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education
Institute. A native of Columbia, Alexandra earned her Bachelor in Business
Administration at the Universidad ICESI and then came to the U.S. in 1999
and attended the Access International Language Institute. She is currently
working on a second Bachelors degree in Economics at Eastern Michigan
University. Welcome Alexandra!
